Winter Arts - December 2010

I love winter photographs... why you might ask... I just love it!

Winter photographs is something that I love because I set out a time to get going and just enjoy the white fluffy stuff. Yes it is EXTREMELY cold here in Winnipeg, dipping way below subzero temperatures in the -50 degrees. Yes my tropical friends... -50. I have done my "winter photowalks" with my Olympus E1 covered partially with ice, literally the area I am not holding on to was iced. My winter photowalks are usually in intervals of 30mins(during -50deg), with my down filled parka and 2 layers of clothes and gloves. It's a sign when you loose feelings on your fingers/toes to go and warm up.

Looking forward to the rest of the winter and create more of these photographs, hoping to get either of the two galleries representing me to do a "Winter Art" exhibit.

I will be adding more into this album as the long Winnipeg winter continues on... most people hate it but I LOVE IT!!! Just wondering if my Cheska will be joining me on these outings soon...

Fine Arts 2010 final set

I haven't done much fine art photography lately. With my time focused on my people photography, its a new field that I am enjoying a lot. Here's my latest fine art photographs, this is my way to unwind from my very hectic schedule. I love creating photographs for myself and I thank God for giving me the artistic vision that I get to share the world I live in through these images. I also like to thank the 2 of Winnipeg's finest art galleries, Birchwood Art Gallery and Wayne Arthur Gallery for believing in me and representing my work. I thank some amazing people that collect my work and eagerly waiting for the new pieces I add to my portfolio. All these gives me the inspiration to create more and more artworks.

This is one of my farewell album for 2010...and more cooler, edgier images for 2011.

Lindsey Hayes - on location studio

This is a session with the beautiful Lindsey. I had an on location session with her good friend fellow model Jessica Pike a week prior. Lindsey also wanted to brush up on her modeling skills after a near 2 months of rest from photo shoots. We set a portable studio in her condo and I would like to thank her husband Kyle for keeping the cat in the room while the session was on going.

Jess is one of the models I currently work with, it was time to find a place for an indoor session, its COLD outside this time of year. Such a pleasure working in such a beautiful house. Jess' house is a combination of cool and elegant, with really funky color theme but a very classy architecture. The house was just our location...this session is all about Jess.
